A large corner house on a double lot. The house is 34 Dover St and the lot is 38 Dover St. Parking for six cars. Originally a two-family house, it was converted to a three-family house after a fire. Sadly, much of this house was renovated in an unfortunate manner. One of the previous owners covered the oak floors on the first floor with linoleum tiles. Thus far we've only been able to remove the tiles and refinish the floor in the living room. These hardwood floors cover the original oak parquet floors. Although City records describe this home as being built in 1930 this is inaccurate. It was built after 1900 and before 1910 when it was the home of Terence McQuade, his wife Anna (?) and their children Thomas, Catherine and Edward. Both the 1910 and 1920 Federal Census are the source for this information. Neighborhood Description Located near the border of the Mount Pleasant neighborhood the house is one block west of Academy Avenue and two blocks east of Mount Pleasant Avenue. Businesses in the area include Mt. Pleasant Hardware, Citizen's Bank, two pharmacies (Rite Aid and Walgreen's) and two restaurants; Thai Star and Don Gallo (Mexican). There is an old-fashioned barber shop, several small ethnic grocery stores and an El Salvadoran bakery. There are two bus lines within walking distance.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
