Our detached cottage is available for rent. It is on a 1/4 acre property, located in a quiet neighborhood and receives great light. We are 0.5 mile away from extensive trails heading into the Marin Headlands and a five minute walk to the bus line which goes into downtown San Francisco. The property is divided by a tall fence providing ample privacy between the main house and cottage. We have a terraced garden area with vegetable beds and at times have extra for our tenant and neighbors. The cottage also has its own private patio nestled under a rose bush and comes complete with an outdoor dining table, chairs and cafe lights. There is also a small raised bed just outside the cottage door that has a few perennials and could be used to grow your own herbs and such. The unit is 420sf w/a loft bedroom. The kitchen includes a full size oven, stove, refrigerator, microwave, garbage disposal and large granite countertop used for dining. The bathroom has a full size shower. A wrought iron spiral staircase takes you to the loft area, which our last tenant used as their bedroom. A newly installed mini-split keeps the cottage warm in the winter and cool in the summer and the new on-demand hot water heater provides instant, endless hot water. The unit is best suited for one person due to its size. We have a small storage area available in the garage. Our laundry is also located in the garage, which is shared between us and our tenant. One of us is retired and the other is a professor who mostly works from home. We have a Border Collie/Husky rescue who enjoys the entire property and for this reason, it would be great if you love animals/dogs. (Note: We are not accepting pets.) We desire a respectful, quiet, and trustworthy professional. The lease is initially six months but we are open to longer stays. This is a smoke-free property. $150 in utilities covers high-speed internet, water, gas, electricity, refuse and general property maintenance. $2,250 for rent and $150 for utilities due on the first of each month.
