We remodeled our entire building with luxurious finishes to be a short term rental then learned we couldn't legally. We rent it furnished with high end furniture but can remove it all if needed. The building is a beautiful historic Victorian with lush landscaping (we actually dug up a parking space in front of this unit to plant olive trees and create a little privacy for its large balcony/ porch). We love our tenants and respect people so we aren't cheap and prefer to take care of any issues immediately. Your home should be your haven. There is one off-street parking space and there may be a small single-car garage for additional rent as well. The parking is next to the unit but there is a set of stairs to get to the front door. The Laundry room is next to parking where there is a brand new set of free-to-use washer and dryer set. It is clean and there is space to store your detergents, etc. The location of the house is wonderful- walk to State street, walk to the beach, walk to Funkzone. There is a little noise from the freeway ramp to note. Utilities are included in the rent (approx $400). Internet is included if you don't mind sharing with the other tenants. Get your own line if you need larger bandwidth. We have another renter in the front unit (A) and we leave the upstairs (over unit A, no-one is above this unit) open for us to use on occasion. No smoking ever. Pets may be okay but we reserve the right to refuse pets. Any pets that bark a lot will not be tolerated. Common areas MUST be kept clean: laundry, trash cans, etc. All utilities are included in the rent payment- unless renter desires their own internet or TV service.
