    What's special

335 parcel was bought by Mr. Sterner on 1 May 1869 he owned the 331 parcel and build the home by the Fall of 1869 the 335 parcel was 10 ft by 110 ft brought from the Grimm brothers how owned most of the block. this 10 ft strip was a PRIVATE ALLEY for the brothers and was closed to the public. His maiden daughter sold it to William and Hazel Stauffer in the early winter of 1937. Mr. Stauffer was a Doctor and died in 1958 and Mrs. Stauffer lived here for another 40 years until I bought it in April of 1999 from her . I added a garden room off the rear covered porch in 2011. so the house alone is about 2950 sq st. untouched since 1869 except for the renovations by Dr. Stauffer in 1937 for his medical practice as 8th st was called " Dr. Row ". I have spend 16 years adding to the house with crown moldings and plaster medallions from Felber in Norristown Pa. The pediment over the front doors was never stripped due to the fact they did not have heat guns and could not use blow torches as it would have destroyed the corbels and pediment. So it lay under 150 years of paint and after Mrs. Stauffer passed away in 2005 the children came by after the services in Quakertown and when they saw the front of the entrance they had never seen any of the details. I received awards for exceptional restoration from the city and commenwealth of Pa. the home is an on going with new gardens in the rear with gates in the driveway new red brick walls that I had constructed on the East and North side of the property . it has two fireplaces no one, they added the first one on the second floor living room in 1938 and in 1941 on the third floor addition for their two sons Tim and William..........
