Approximately 750 sq. ft. located in the Hawthorne area, in a triplex building, one street behind Hawthorne Blvd. This apartment is about a 3 minute walk from the Bagdad Theatre yet is on a quiet street with a HUGE backyard. There is plenty of space in the yard and you are more then welcome (invited in fact) to plant fruits and veggies if you are inclined to grow organically. Raspberry bushes are already planted and produce a lot each year. The yard gets a lot of sun, so it is perfect for this! The house is a triplex. Your potential home would be on the main level floor that opens directly to TWO big porches in the front and back (see pictures). The apartment gets lots of light and has been regularly updated yet keeps its old charm. As an example, soundproofing has been put into the ceiling and floors, so noise is not a concern as is often typical of older construction. Of course, the unit is completely private and is a separate apartment. It has two entrances (via front and back doors). What else can I tell you? Everybody in the building is quite nice and friendly and gets along very well. This "rental" won't be typical in that you will be dealing with me (the owner) and not some rental agency and strange tenants living next to you. There is a safe, covered shed in the yard to store bikes (with a bike rack to lock your bicycle to), which makes keeping a bike easy and increases "usable" space in the apartment. Finally you will see that the apartment looks really nice. That's because it is. It was just totally repainted, insulated (for sound AND heat insulation via the side walls when new siding was placed last summer) and is all essentially brand new for you to enjoy, including the dishwasher. There is no screening fee, application fee, or other garbage you are charged by rental agencies. I will however ask for references, a credit check (which we can do together for free), and a security deposit and a small cleaning fee, which is standard. I also perform a background check, so your financial situation needs to be in order to obtain this rental. Owner pays garbage bills. Please note that current tenants would be willing to split internet with you so that would be an option to save money on that utility, if you so choose (but obviously you are welcome to have your own service).
