    We are living in and have enjoyed living in a 75 yr old historical log cabin hunting lodge converted to comfortable 3200 sq ft home near Shades Valley HS. It is embellished with a gravel driveway, which adds to a rural feeling of escape from the city when you drive in. Obviously, it has amenities of comfort including the central air and heat. The thick logs have great R values for insulation lowering heating and AC bills. It has 3BR, 21/2 baths, a large sunroom, large working fireplaces. When decorated for Christmas, the living room and fireplace is magnificent. We also have a detached 4 car garage with 800 sq ft apt above which has been rented out consistently for 35 years. Also we have a detached 4 stall barn with brick floor and huge tack room. All of this is situated on 10 acres with half the land is in pasture and half in woods. This balance provides privacy (we can’t see another house), some quiet walks down by the stream, a place for pets as well as some pasture for large animals of your choice. This is a great setting for someone who wants to forget the stress of work and have a relaxed rural recreational feeling while being close to work. It is located in Irondale where taxes are a bit more reasonable. Neighborhood Description Karl Daly Road lends itself to people who like riding along other outdoor sports. There are 2 riding rings in the neighborhood conforming to specifications by national horse riding organizations. There are other riding rings in the neighborhood.
