There is one bedroom and a very large loft. There is a HUGE deck as well as a patio with windows on all sides. The cabin is built on the edge of a large hill so it is high up overlooking a gourgeous wooded ridge and the water at the base of the cabin's land. Because of the location it feels like you are IN the trees rather than on land.We have updated the cabin in many ways since buying it as a foreclosure. There is a tankless hotwater heater which provides endless hot water, sediment filter, whole house UV system. There are hardwood wide plank floors, a spiral staircase, pineboard ceiling, and a vaulted ceiling with rafters. The bathroom has an updated sink, tile flooring and dual flush toilet. There is a Vermont Castings Defiant woodstove with triple wall stovepipe, and if you don't feel like using the woodstove there are baseboard heaters with separate thermostats that also work well.The location of Moss Haven is incredible! Moss Haven is located miles away from the nearest large road and is at the very end of a tiny dirt road. Moss Haven is located in a small cabin community of about 20 cabins that was built in the early 70's. The cabins are mainly kept by other weekenders, but there are some full timers around who keep an eye on the community. Because it is a very small community tucked away in the woods it is very safe and isolated, which is an important consideration for a place which is empty during the week. The community was built with a shared well system, so the water comes from a main well and is pumped to each cabin. This is helpful because when something goes wrong the plumber fees are shared by the community, which also shares the cost of the upkeep for the roads. The HOA fees change each year based on the expenditures but are usually around $400 a year. WV state taxes are 515 for out of state, less if you are in state. If you love nature this is the place for you. The deck has the pefect view for watching wildlife because it is high above the ground. The community is built on Back Creek which is classed by the WV Dept of Natural Resources as a "High Quality Recreational Stream" for fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. You can pop in to the creek just a few miles away, spend a couple of hours on the water and then get out in your own backyard, go home and relax! The cabin is located on 1.4 acres of land that is all treed with large and beautiful oaks, elms, and sycamore. There is no yard to upkeep, just a natural bed of leaves and wildflowers to watch grow in the spring and summer.Because we love the way the cabin is set up, and we think you will too, the furniture will convey if you choose for free. There is a large green L-shaped reclining couch, a Stearns and Foster bed, chiminea, 2 futons, deck furniture, kitchen table and chairs, granite counter top kitchen island, pine cabinet, and more. The cabin is located a 20-30 minutes drive to Berkeley Springs, Martinsburg, Sleepy Creek Lake and Wildlife Area, and the Potomac River!Obviously we love this place, and we know you will too. The cabin is very solidly built, is just the right size and takes very little maintenance. It is in a safe and quiet community located on the water.
