Upstairs has never had HVAC and is cooled/ heated with a whole house attic fan and window units. My parents built the house in 1985 and my mother has been living there ever since. The house is somewhat dated with darker finish on the floors, trim and cabinetry, some paneling and lots of wallpaper. The ceilings could use some paint and some of the wallpaper needs repair or replacing. Two bedrooms have the original carpet. The house is live in ready and is in no shape, form or fashion a fixer upper. Instead of trying to "pretty it up" we're selling it as is thinking a buyer might rather save some money and do some things as they can and want. I am a licensed home builder. If a prospective buyer wants to discuss remodeling ideas I will be happy to do so, albeit outside of the sale of the house. What I'm really trying to say is that the house is in great shape structurally and mechanically and if I were going to live there I'd want to update the house how I wanted it and not how someone thinks will sell the fastest.
