    What's special

This is a big, 5 bedroom home in Summerfield. We are in the Shenandoah school district and the bus stop is right across the street from our house. There are a lot of kids in that like to run around and play together. We have a little convenience store, post office, playground and fire department. They do special events for the kids for the holidays and get togethers from time to time. Our neighbors are really friendly and we’ve never had issues with theft. The home has a very large master bedroom upstairs with a bedroom sized walk-in closet as well as a small closet on the other side of the room. There is attic access via a pull-down ladder in the master closet. There is a lot of storage space in the attic. Also upstairs is another large bedroom that spans the length of the home with a large closet. Between the two bedrooms there is a full sized bathroom. On the main level there is a living room, a large full-sized bathroom with a jetted tub, one bedroom, dining room and a kitchen with custom built open cabinets that allow for a lot of storage space. Off the kitchen is a small addition that includes washer and dryer hookups, additional shelving for a pantry/storage and another door to the outside. Downstairs leads to the partially finished basement. There are two bedrooms built in the basement that are mostly finished. Both bedrooms have raised floors and windows. Outside there is a hot tub, fire pit, storage shed and a large chicken coop. The home has a metal roof. We recently planted a couple fruit trees on the property and have a garden area that has regularly been used. There is also a burn barrel that we’ve found useful. We purchased the home two years ago and have done a great deal of remodeling to it in that time. The home still has some work that needs to be done but its mostly cosmetic. We purchased another home in town because my husband’s work schedule no longer allows him enough time off to continue the remodel. We completely gutted and remodeled the entire kitchen and dining room (down to studs and dirt), we treated several feet of dirt for termites and all exposed wood, lifted the addition and poured concrete piers, replaced floor joists, secured the beams, had a $1,200 termite system installed, added a French drain at the bottom of the hill near the house, replaced the gutters on the back side and added a drainage system to keep water away from the house, replaced the plumbing in most of the home, all of the electrical in the kitchen and dining room, upgraded the electrical panel, added supports in the basement and two bedrooms, added a work bench, replaced the toilets, drained the septic tank, painted, added a chicken coop, added gravel to the parking area in the front of the home, and so much more. I had a pest control service treat the home quarterly, we never had issues with insects. The home has natural gas heat that runs through the main part of the house. We added gas wall units in the upstairs bedroom and the dining room addition. We have found that air conditioning is not necessary in the summer because of the location of the home. You can open the windows and get a nice breeze through the house. However, should you want to use air conditioners, we are leaving our window units with the home. The home needs a little vinyl siding repair and the master bedroom needs drywall, tape texture and paint. We remodeled a lot throughout the house but had not yet made it to the master bedroom. However, it will be beautiful when it is finished. It is a huge room with vaulted ceilings, two closets, a fire place (not functional) and several windows. We had Frontier internet service and it worked great. We had 2 teens streaming their games and we streamed TV. I was told we had great internet because the hub was across the street. The home is move-in ready.
