Welcome to the Spanish Mission Ranch Estate—an extraordinary, custom-built, single-story Spanish-style ranch home (built 2007) on 14.76 panoramic acres directly bordering the legendary, permanently conserved Tejon Ranch. Unspoiled western views of the San Joaquin Valley and rolling hills, ensuring extraordinary privacy, natural beauty, and access to one of California’s most iconic landscapes. Zoned for 10 horses. Offered for sale by the original owner, this home reflects thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship throughout. The 2,277 sq. ft. main house features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, sandable hardwood floors, and authentic Mexican tile for warmth and elegance. The kitchen has granite countertops and an oversized copper farmhouse sink. Teeming with light and connection to the outdoors with French doors in the living, dining, master, and studio spaces. A cozy family room fireplace, central air and heat, tankless water heaters, and top-tier insulation ensure year-round comfort. Accessibility is a key feature, with an oversized entry door, wide ADA-style hallways, no thresholds, and an accessible master bath boasting a 5-foot turning radius, grab bars, a tiled surround jacuzzi tub, granite counters, copper sinks, and direct access to a private enclosed garden. A large pantry is conveniently located off the carport. A detached studio/guest suite above the finished, insulated 2-car garage features a private entrance, full bath, and its own tankless water heater—ideal for guests, extended family, or a home office. Additional amenities include a windbreak/shelter with water for horses, and the property’s unique construction: built into granite with full plywood sheathing for maximum stability. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate direct access to public equestrian and hiking trails, as well as professionally excavated private ATV, hiking, and equestrian trails throughout the property. Large natural boulders—literally in your own backyard—offer opportunities for scrambling and outdoor fun. The property is fully fenced, with fencing maintenance provided by Tejon Ranch—a substantial financial benefit rarely found elsewhere. The microclimate “above the fog, below the snow” is ideal for year-round living, just minutes to Stallion Springs market and amenities. Wildlife is abundant, with California Condor sightings on the property (hence the name). An authentic Native American grinding rock on site adds unique character and cultural significance. Stargazing Paradise: Thoughtful exterior lighting and compliance with Section 19.81 of Kern County’s Zoning Ordinance deliver nearly “dark sky sanctuary” conditions, providing breathtaking star and Milky Way views from your patio or garden. Financial incentives: Kern County offers lower property taxes and utilities compared to neighboring urban counties, and Proposition 19 lets qualifying buyers transfer a low property tax base from anywhere in California—potentially saving thousands per year. Experience a rare blend of luxury, accessibility, privacy, investment potential, natural wonder, and world-class stargazing. Schedule your private tour today! What the owner loves about this home
What I love most about this property is the sense of peace and connection to nature. Whether I am taking off on a hike on the property to "Mike's Hill" or sitting on "Vulture rock" to watch the sunset, I am immediately removed from the stress of the outside world. Relaxing on a chaise on the patio as the sun sets while enjoying a margarita is also a favorite. It's always fun to see the wildlife up close, like deer, elk, or the Condors when they roost in the tree off the kitchen. The detached guest suite or "Summer House" as it is known has been perfect for hosting friends and family. Lots of fun times have been had up there! I am most grateful that my parent were able to "age in place" with the ADA-style accessibility that was thoughtfully designed when the house was firsr built.have made this home comfortable and accommodating for all. If you do want to go out and be social the vineyards are right down the road. Then again there is the quant town of Tehachapi with it's Farmer's Markets, Car shows and Rodeos. Lots of good memories!
