This historically significant home in the converted Alligerville Train Station comes with a private music studio that has been part of modern rock history. Studio boards and equipment can be purchased separately, but the wiring infrastructure will remain in place. The kitchen has a custom sound system for playing back the day's recordings. David Bowie recorded demos here and wrote two songs for his "The Next Day" record, seated in the custom kitchen's breakfast nook. (I'll Take You There and The Boss of Me.) More than 30 world-class musicians have recorded at the studio, among them Suzanne Vega, Donna Lewis, Larry Campbell, Michael Tudor, Tony Levin, Roswell Rudd, Gerry Leonard aka Spooky Ghost, Pamela Sue Mann and others. Duncan Sheik recorded his White Limousine album here. Dar Williams recorded guitar pieces for her In the Time of Gods album. MGMT recorded their second album here. This home and studio of a prominent member of Bowie's band and his singer/songwriter wife was used to record remotely for other albums, commercials and collaborative projects. The building attracts train history aficionados as well, as the historic Alligerville Train Station, featured in several books and exhibits about the O&W railway line. The music studio is located in the station's Freight Room.
