This home is 28 minutes from the Tail of the Dragon, or US 129, which is internationally known as America's #1 destination for motorcycle and sports car fans. We are short scenic ride away (about an hour) from the Cherohala Skyway which offers 60 miles of world class hiking trails, refreshing waterfalls, and scenic overlooks. The Cherohala Skyway was featured as one of Discovery Channel's Top 10 motorcycle rides in North America. We are also about an hour away from the Devil's Triangle which is 44 mile loop which includes includes TN 62, TN 116 and TN 330. The road here is tight and twisting with more dangers to look out for in this area leaving no room for error. Go hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Plan a trip to Ramsey Cascades (8-mile roundtrip hike is considered strenuous in difficulty) to see the tallest waterfall, Chimney Tops Trail (3.5 mile round trip on a steep, strenuous trail) for spectacular views, or check out Bald River Falls (90 foot tall waterfall just off the road). Go fishing for large trout in Abrams Creek (check out the 20 foot tall waterfall while you're there) or head down to Citico Creek for Brown and Rainbow trout. There are plenty of areas within 10 minutes to go fishing locally as well. If you plan to stay in the immediate area for hiking or fishing, then check out Fort Loudon State Park. There are five miles of moderate trails that loop around the park and you can catch bass and catfish here. Go tubing in Tellico Plains or white water rafting in Ocoee. If you're looking for a relaxing day at the beach, then Vonore Beach is a peaceful place to paddle, swim, boat and fish.
