Hello world! My wife and I are renting out a recently constructed basement apartment in our home in Silver Spring. The house is in a quiet neighborhood... but with lots of little kids running around everywhere. The apartment's entrance is in the rear of the house where you'd be greeted daily by a cheerful green door. It's a well-insulated apartment with new windows and its own high-efficiency heating/cooling system. It has one bedroom with a closet, a full bathroom, and a living/dining/kitchen combo room. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, range, and microwave. There's a separate laundry room in the basement with a washing machine and dryer that you would share with us. We would also share a basement hallway. We have two small kids, one who's three and a half and one who's almost one year old. Not going to lie they can be loud sometimes but typically just between 7 AM and 8 PM. The apartment has pretty good sound separation from the rest of the house but you'll likely hear them/us when running around during the day. I currently work from home and my wife is on leave from her job to raise our kids, so we're at home a lot. It's important that we find a renter who's friendly and makes our kids feel comfortable since we will probably cross paths frequently. Also, we're taking normal precautions to avoid COVID and hope to find a renter who's doing the same. Location: The house is on Lexington Drive in Silver Spring, MD, near the intersection of Colesville Rd and University Blvd (Four Corners) just north of 495. It's within walking distance of Starbucks, Chipotle, CVS, Trader Joe's, Safeway, and more. There are several bus stops around including one that will get you to the Silver Spring Metro Station in under 10 minutes. Sligo Creek Trail and Northwest Branch Trail are also nearby for scenic walking/running/biking.
