    What's special

Welcome to 3 Mortson Street, a building steeped in the history of a young Hartford. Built around 1880 in the Frog Hollow section, these "Perfect 6's" were the first homes for many of our parents and grandparents as they began their married lives. They were called "Perfect 6's" because the three story buildings were comprised of two "railroad flats" per floor. While 3 Mortson Street retains its original exterior style, the interior has been completely refurbished. This "Perfect 6" is now a perfect Duplex with high ceilings, streaming sunlight and plenty of space. The first two floors were beautifully redesigned in 2002 and comprise over 1800 square feet of living space. The third floor is unfinished attic space but has the same windows as the first and second floor and could be finished into an additional 600 square feet of space. Although most trim and moldings are newer they are designed after the original. The first thing you notice as you approach this brick building is its stateliness and size. It was built to last. A comfortable front porch welcomes as you walk through the beautiful iron gate. All ceilings are about 9' tall and all walls painted a warm Linen White. Everything in this home is new in the past 7 years. The Living Room measuring about 14' x 11' is located at the front of the home and has a beautiful floor to ceiling bay window area and taupe carpeting. It flows easily into the Dining Room (12' x 12') which is partially open to the large eating space Kitchen (14'6" x 12'3"). The Kitchen has plenty of light wood cabinets, cream speckled laminate countertops and resilient flooring. There is an almond GE Dishwasher, almond GE electric Oven/Range and a new stainless steel look Refrigerator. The large sink is stainless steel. As you progress toward the back of the house there is a Half Bath, Laundry Area and broom closet. At the back of the home is a Den (14'6" x 9'9") that is currently being used as an Exercise Room. A door leads from the Den to the rea
