    Cottage for Rent $4500/month Our unfurnished in-law cottage off the sunny side of Old La Honda Rd. is now available. (We are less than one mile up from Portola Rd so it takes only 15 minutes to get to the center of the Stanford campus). It sits about 30 yards down the hill from the main house and is quite private. Built in 2000, it is 1,100 square feet of living area plus a substantial 800 square foot sunny deck. There is a large living/dining area off the kitchen with a free-standing wood stove and one very large bedroom. There are many windows throughout the house, as well as five skylights, hence plenty of light. The stainless gas range and dishwasher are new within the last three years; the counters are cultured stone within the same time period. There is a Miele stacked washer/dryer in the kitchen. The cottage has vaulted, beamed ceilings and hardwood and slate floors. A ten-foot wide deck surrounds two sides of the cottage and the dramatic views are huge - across the bay to the East Bay and Mt. Diablo, and closer to Jasper Ridge, as well as north towards San Francisco and Mt. Tamalpais. There is abundant hiking out the back door and it is five minutes to Roberts and six minutes to 280. We have quite a bit of wildlife on the property and nearby. Many wonderful bike rides, both on and off road, are nearby. Forced air heating (besides the wood stove) and air conditioning keep the home comfortable. There is a ceiling fan in the living/dining area. Rent includes gas, electric, water, garbage, garden maintenance and high-speed internet. (Note: installation of fiber optic cable up Old La Honda was begun in late July and should be complete in December). We are a quiet retired couple who greatly value our privacy. We are seeking a likewise quiet individual or couple for a mutually respectful long-term lease. No smoking, inside or out No firearms anywhere on the property No loud music or TV - please keep volume contained to cottage We established a very workable system with our recent tenants whereby we alway call before coming to the other's home. This maintains the privacy and independence of both households.
