Charming, sunny, 1 bedroom apt. in farmhouse on 50-acre farm/park on Ct River. Located in a 20-year-old addition in our renovated 1820 farmhouse. We live in the main section of the house. The apt. has tons of windows overlooking farm & CT River with openings to sunrise and sunsets, wood & tile floors, is freshly painted, with solid wood cabinetry, some antique furniture, a full-service kitchen with lots of new appliances (fridge, microwave, coffee pot), stove, etc. The bed is a high-end w/features. LR has a flat screen TV, desk & futon couch for 2 guests. The tiled bathroom adjacent to BR has a shower/ceramic tub. We do have an elliptical and ski machine as well as yoga mats and yoga and exercise videos in the room above the apartment. The use would need to be coordinated with us.
Neighborhood overview - Population is 5,000. Our rural pastoral neighborhood with homes and organic farms is 5 to 10 minutes from Greenfield (pop. 17,700) where the hospital is located, as well as stores, banks, library, etc. We are about 25 minutes to Amherst, Hadley & Northampton, and about 30 to Brattleboro. Our property is located on Connecticut River, which is accessible for boating, swimming, fishing, etc. Our land borders the Pocumtuck Ridge with trails. We are close to bike trail with biking right on River Rd.
Showing the property - I listed 7 days. We can show most evenings during the week and days and evenings on the weekends. It will depend on the day and time requested in case we are tied up due to previous committments.
Parking and Maintenance - There is lots of parking for vehicles you are using (not for storage). We plow and mow. All uutilities are included. We handle the recycling and garbage. We have a maintenance person on-site.
Pets - on a case by case basis and ask you to sign an agreement and put a deposit. We have 2 young dogs and 3 indoor cats.
Use of the land - the land can be used for all kinds of recreation. Use is based on a few things. We will show renters where the boundaries of the property are and which areas you can use at various times of year and which ones to avoid. We have a few areas with special vegetation (e.g., spring ephemerals, plants marked for protecting), times when the fish are spawning in the pond, times when the shad are dying in the CT River, etc.
Lease - ideally we would like a longer term stay (e.g., a year or more).
