Ardenwald is an historic neighborhood with a small town feel. Many houses sit on large lots with old growth trees. Ardenwald is consolidated with Milwaukie, and only about 10 minutes from downtown Portland. The local grade school was recently constructed and retains some of the flavor of the historic building it replaced. Ardenwald Park plays host to weekly concerts during the late summer. Ardenwald's local community organization merged with the Johnson Creek organization to form the Ardenwald-Johnson Creek Neighborhood Association. The Association is vibrant and active in local events and politics.
