The 2020 gut renovation of the house provided opportunities to (1) super-insulate exterior walls/roof (open cell foam plus 1" rigid on outside of new exterior walls), (2) replace old single pane windows with new insulated, aluminum clad windows, (3) upgrade all electric and wire each space with ethernet cable, (4) install 2x 16 SEER split HVAC systems, (5) install all new pex plumbing and new gas piping, (6) waterproof and insulate basement foundation walls, and (7) add 10 kW of solar to the south and west roofs. All interior finishes and fixtures were replaced, as well as the addition of approx 900 SF of conditioned space and a 2-car carport.
