Built in 1912, the owners purchased the home in 1984 and meticulously restored the home to its original charm over the course of ten years, while updating the essential systems of the home. Since then it has been featured in: books on Craftsman architecture, magazines on kitchen remodeling, catalogs for wallpaper; and it has been on many historic home tours. The kitchen is the only room that was not restored to its original condition. The owners took it down to the studs and designed a space that worked for them, while staying true to the style of the home. The cabinet design was inspired by a Gustav Stickley furniture catalog. They were custom built from quarter-sawn oak and fumed to create the rich honey color. The copper cabinet hardware and the copper stove hood were hand made by the owners.
