Our home was custom built by a renowned Amish builder with over 3600 sq. ft. of living space that includes 4 large bedrooms, 2 full baths, a 3/4 bath, and a ½ bath. The master suite has a large sitting area with a walk-in closet and utilitarian style master bath. We designed our home around the large working kitchen and family gathering space. It has a hefty size island with an eating area that allows you to cook with plenty of space. The kitchen cabinets are northern cherry that show the beautiful contrast between the deep red heart wood from the center of the cherry tree and the outer cream sap wood. Just off the kitchen is a large walk in pantry that keeps all of your cooking needs close at hand. Our home has a stately formal Dining room and a calming formal Living room. We have always been told by our friends and guest that our home is intriguing and comfortable. The front foyer, dining room, and living room all have a one of a kind hickory floor that was purchased as rough sawn boards from a local saw mill and then milled into flooring by an Amish friend. The hickory boards range from 4” to 13” wide that created an artwork like no other floor. The hickory stairway is exceptional with long treads for easy walking. The custom wood work that we chose has all Amish designed features that personalize our home. The baseboard is a 10 inches tall and gives a grand presence along with the deep set window sills, fluted window and door sides and bold distinct tops. The Dining room, Living room, foyer, and Master bedroom all have crown molding and corner block features. The walkout basement has a utility side and a finished side. The finished side has a pellet stove, kitchen, family room, ¾ bath and a separate exercise room. As you walk out of the basement you will find yourself under a covered porch surrounded by a majestic tiered flower garden. The walkout patio has 2 full size integrated checker boards to help get the kids out of the house. Our home sits on a knoll and allows the kids a wonderful place to sled ride in the winter time. We had our home built with 2x6 walls and metal corner strapping to provide an extra layer of stability around my family. It has a metal roof that will put you to sleep during a rain storm but durable to last for years. The garage is oversized so that there is extra room which helps to prevent you from hitting your car doors. We built a home that is easy to live in, but is also very comfortable and inviting for our guest. We enjoyed family dinners in our large Southern Beauty red dining room and quiet time with a cup of coffee in our living room. We warmed up in front of the pellet stove while we watched the snow fall in the winter time and reveled at the gorgeous sun sets from the back porch. The outside has an established large fruit and vegetable garden with blueberry, strawberry, raspberry and blackberry bushes. There are a variety of flower gardens and a diverse selection of trees. There is a 30x60 barn with a pasture for your livestock.
