Tenant is required to keep utilities in their name. These include water, trash, and electric. I would seek the previous seller of the house inadvertently left the utilities in her name as the water and trash service have remained on and I have never received a bill. I would budget for these still, but so long as they stay on and no bills are received, go ahead and ride out the free utilities as long as they last! Just set some money aside in case there are surprises of course. As for the electric, you will certainly need to out that in your name.
