We are appx 10 miles (12 minutes) north of Portland directly up the coastal route on eye-catching RT88, and about 7 miles (9 minutes) to Freeport Shopping (LLBean, etc, and Restaurants) from our location, making it a great vantage point to explore. -45 Minutes to Bradbury Mountain if you like hiking:) Bring your Boat, Bicycles, Kayaks and Fishing Gear! Boat by Day and Stay on the mainland by Night! -The Yarmouth Boat Yard and Yankee Marina are steps away, just past the I-295 overpass which is part of the inlet which adjacent to the back yard, and can be accessed on Old Shipyard Rd, around the bend. Location! We are nestled between Rt 88 Bridge and I-295 in a Tidal Inlet where Fresh and Salt Water meet from the Beautiful Royal River Falls (THE place to fish Stripers--Fish from the Back Yard!) Great Nature Viewing! -See the feeding Cormorants, Ospreys and Bald Eagles (and many other types of water fowl) as the fish jump while you drink your morning coffee or eat dinner from the relaxing deck at the rear of the house. There are 2 separate 1 bedroom, 1 bath rentals in this well-built 1750 historic house. -One is on the first floor and there is another smaller rental on the second. -The back yard is shared, while the apartment entryways, exits and grilling areas are both private. -There may be availability to rent the entire residence, so please inquire. If you desire to have an outdoor meal (besides grilling or eating at the residence), the Royal River Grill is an excellent choice with it's out door deck dining, or dining area in the grass with Adirondack Chairs and gas fireplaces, and high top dining tables. This overlooks the marina slips so you can watch boats come in and out of the channel as the sun sets. A 3 minute drive will bring you to the Muddy Rudder restaurant on a beautiful tributary of Casco Bay, also providing scenic dining.
