I'm looking for a roommate to move into a great, modern apartment in Columbia Heights that I share. My current roommate is moving back to California so I am looking for someone to take over his room on May 1st. I'm looking for someone mature and social, responsible and considerate about common areas. I prefer to live with another guy. Located three blocks south of the Columbia Heights metro stop (green/yellow) at 14th and Girard, the apartment is on the third floor of a seven story condo building with 24 hour controlled access. The building offers a great rooftop with views of the whole city (great for Fourth of July). The vibe of the building is pretty quiet. The neighbors are nice enough but everyone does their own thing. The two bedroom/two bathroom apartment itself features central AC/heat, a nicely appointed kitchen with a gas range, dishwasher, and granite counters, and a washer/dryer in the unit. The open living/dining space has lots of natural light and, as you can see in the photos, an L-shaped couch. The apartment is fully furnished, and the available bedroom can be as well (with a bed, dresser, nightstand, chair). But it'd be up to youI can craigslist all that stuff if you have your own furniture. The bedroom also has a walk-in closet. About me: I'm a young professional working in local government, and I've lived in DC for about two years and I love it here. I am interested in living with someone who is laid back, clean, and responsible. Having friends over to watch a game (Go Tar Heels/Lakers/Chargers) or whatever is no problem every once in a while, but this is not a party house. It's a chill place to relax.If this sounds like your jam, the rent for the room is $1,375 plus utilities (internet, Pepco) with a one year lease, May to April. The security deposit is $1,200.
