The nearest town is 17 miles away and there is no cell-phone reception at this location. However, it is wired for satellite phone, internet, and TV. The cabin was built using log construction and is heated by wood stove. This cabin is completely off the electrical grid with solar power, and a gasoline generator for backup. It has a deep-well that is 80 feet underground and 20 feet below water level. It also has a 500-gallon septic tank. The deck and wood fence were recently rebuilt with weather-resistant materials ($5,000 in materials), the solar power electronics are all new as of 2023 ($10,000 in new hardware), and the flooring is all new LVT as of 2021 ($2,000 in materials). The cabin will be sold fully furnished as a turn-key weekend retreat and is a better investment than paper money due to inflation. If you enjoy trout fishing, the Rio de la Vacas is a 10-minute walk from the house and is rated one of the best fly-fishing streams in New Mexico.
