The Ellmore Farmhouse is part of Fairfax County s Resident Curator Program. The Resident Curator Program is designed to preserve the historic properties owned or leased by the County, by offering long-term leases to qualified tenants who agree to rehabilitate and maintain these historic resources in accordance with established preservation standards. A curator can be a private citizen, a non-profit entity, or a for-profit entity, provided that the use is compatible with the property, as determined by the Director of the Fairfax County Park Authority and subject to the standards and criteria of the Resident Curator Program. Chosen through a pre-defined application process, the selected curator signs a lease which includes the agreed-upon work plan outlining the rehabilitation of the historic resource.
