Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright’s protege, Dean Bryant Vollendorf, this mid-century modern, Hemicycle Usonian home is constructed of 110 tons of White Marble from Gantt’s Quarry, Alabama. It was featured in the Tulsa Tribune in 1966 along with the architect. His “Bay Sweep” design is based upon the architect’s work with Frank Lloyd Wright and his Usonian designs. The hemicycle home echoes concepts from FLLW’s second Jacob’s house designed in 1943 and built in 1948-1949. Dean Bryant Vollendorf was present at the Jacob’s home site many times during the construction according to newly discovered manuscripts (2023) provided by the Oklahoma Historical Society.
