This started as a 3/2 Ranch on a country dirt road in 1957. Built by the plantation owner for his daughter as they partitioned the farm -- hence the address is a round number (2700). Later, the home was upgraded with a French Drain to enable finishing part of the basement into an deluxe In-Law Suite. Later still, a huge Sunroom and extra large deck were added on the main upstairs. Finally, the master bath was expanded to include a two-person shower with a granite bench, matching the custom vanity top. Neighborhood Description My home is almost the last original home left as developers bring in the upgrades. The new homes have been going for $750,000 to over $1 million! One acre, in-town, forested, award-winning schools, and the best commute you can get. Backroads to Symphony Hall, Emory University, Georgia Tech, and Georgia State. Most of my neighbors have an Atlanta address, but the zipcode boundary runs through my backyard; so, I have a Decatur address. None of us, however, is within any city limits. This is unincorporated Dekalb county -- but it is "In the City" (inside the I-285 perimeter loop).
