Had a major water leak-pipes froze and busted then thawed and it was days before it was known since we were out of town. Major damage to ceilings in kitchen. Floor collapsed and there are now structural issues. (House has no crawlspace and is on an old stone foundation.) Probably will be mold issues now too. I'm letting the bank take it back. They will probably sell at auction. If case you didn't know-they can say that they have no knowledge of any issues with it -since they never lived in the house. I do not want to see anybody get screwed, so I'm giving the heads up now. As long as you know what you are getting-you can make an informed decision. The house sits within a setback area and is grandfathered in, but if you have to do a lot of work like this-there may be zoning/permit issues too. The city will not let you split the property-already tried. Other than that-its a great house way out in the country. Stay Informed.
