Cattle really do flourish in this area of the great basin known for its mild winters. With a total of 3 grazing permits on Federal land and two State permits on 1520 acres contiguous to the deeded property for a total of 1318 AUM’s, this truly is a well balanced efficient, low overhead cattle operation. Water for 390 water irrigate acres is supplied by Priday reservoir capable of holding 2500 acre feet. There are 3 pivots to irrigate pasture and hay fields that produce an average of 400 tons alfalfa. An efficient gravity flow pressure system is used to supply water to the sprinkler system with a booster pump to keep power costs low. The ranch also has a 400 GPM supplemental well. Cattle in this area do well on one ton of hay for the winter. The grazing permits in normal years allow the feeding to not begin until February 1st. The hillside setting for the home overlooks the irrigated fields with an impressive view of the Warner Valley and Hart Mt. to the North. Extensively remodeled in 1997 when a new sun room was added. Other improvements include a two car garage, machine storage building with shop, walk in cooler, chicken house, corrals and calving / vet barn.
