Typically, even during a morning commute, it only takes around 12-17 minutes to get to either side of Joint-Base Elmendorf-Richardson, and the same can be said regarding most locations in Downtown or Midtown Anchorage. The entire main campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage, including the UAA medical school campus and engineering buildings, are all within walking distance of Aspen Heights Loop. In fact, the entire distance can be covered by utilizing only a single stoplight-controlled crosswalk.
