A 1930 one-of-a-kind former playhouse. This is the original Shelburne Playhouse for the Shelburne Hotel. It still has the original cedar on the walls, beautiful windows, new roof, antique stage lights, theatre curtains, and other original remnants from the playhouse. "Shelburne Playhouse is a historic theatre located at Ferndale in Sullivan County, New York. It was built in 1922 as part of a small resort known as the Shelburne Hotel and used as the hotel social hall. Rectangular wood-frame building, 95 ft long x 35 ft wide consisting of a large five-by-four-bay structure that houses the main seating area/dance hall and a slightly lower three-by-one-bay entrance pavilion. Building is coated in stucco w/applied wooden battens and surmounted by a gable roof in the Tudor Revival style." It is on the National Register of Historic Places which may allow for financial incentives for its restoration.
