The Town of Parachute, Colorado is requesting letters of interest from organizations, entities, entrepreneurs and other community members to propose innovative ideas and uses for Wasson-McKay Place in Parachute, Colorado and outline how they would administer, manage and operate that use to meet the Town's goals to beautify and revitalize business corridors and to drive vitality in the area. The house is convenienty located off of Cardinal Way and within minutes of I70 exit 75 and next to the pedestrian bridge that connects to 1st Street and historic downtown. It is also connected with high speed fiber internet through Ting. The house currently sits on a recently renovated park space that borders beautiful Parachute Creek, and is complete with public restrooms, picinic tables, a gazebo, benches, and other park amenities. This public space can be incorporated / used by the selected tenant. The Town plans to renvoate the interior of the home in 2023. The Town is offering the house for lease at a minimum nominal rate of $1/year for uses with strong community benefits, economic vitality, and that meet the Town's overall objectives and goals. However, for-profit businesses are welcome and encouraged to submit proposals that exceed the nominal rate. Final lease and terms will be subject to Town Council, Land Use, and Licensing / Permitting approvals. The selected tenant will be responsible for all utilities and ongoing expenses.
