Designed by architect George Rinefrank in the 1930's, built in 1937. Owners family owned the Lowery Lumberyards in Detroit, surprise and delight features include chestnut trim in the den, 9 foot ceilings on the first floor, original copper plumbing from 1937! Concrete block construction provides tremendous thermal inertia, very easy to heat and cool. We purchased from the original owners in 1972 and have continually upgraded it since: added a gable roof in 1980 [original was flat], replaced 30 wood windows with wood storms and screens in 1983 and replaced most of those windows in 2015 with Pella Designer Series triple pane, replaced 1960's vintage aluminum siding with simulated rough sawn cedar vinyl, etc. Situated on 115 feet of Detroit River frontage with steel seawall facing Boblo Island and Ahmestburg, Ontario in Canada.
