Our 2018 bright, open and charming backyard cottage (ADU) is available as early as November 2nd, (although November 15th is preferred). The cottage offers modern amenities and was designed with a nod to the period architecture in the neighborhood. It's located on Salmon Street, an inner-SE bike corridor, 3-blocks north of Hawthorne and 3-blocks south of Belmont.
You don't have to worry about sharing walls with noisy neighbors in this stand-alone cottage. Enjoy a stainless steel kitchen and your own full-sized washer/dryer set; plus natural gas stove/oven, fireplace, and instant hot-water heater. Each bedroom has individually controlled air-conditioning and heating "mini-split" units.
Stained concrete floors extend throughout the main level; the staircase and upper level floors are solid red oak; and the tiled floor in the full bathroom has thermostatically programmed radiant floor heat. The entire cottage has solid clear vertical grain fir trim that matches the energy-efficient windows. The 16 windows, including a skylight, are situated to encourage natural light. And when the sun goes down, enjoy the ambiance provided by an array of updated vintage light fixtures.
Both bathrooms have dual-flush toilets. The full bathroom has an oversized shower with an automatic humidity-detecting fan.
There are loads of internal storage options including well-lit oversized closets in the bedrooms, a linen cupboard, 3 built-in storage cabinets in the full bathroom, a finished "attic" cubby for seasonal storage, a coat closet under the stairs, and a pantry with floor-to-ceiling movable shelving.
We also offer a secure bike storage locker large enough for 2+ bikes and a private patio off the back door.
Garbage/recycling/compost service is included in the rent. Resident(s) will pay for their own water/sewer, electricity, gas, and internet.
The Buckman Neighborhood is one of the most popular residential neighborhoods in Portland, hosting vintage houses, eclectic local businesses, and bikes and pedestrians aplenty. The overall vibe of this urban neighborhood is laid-back, artsy, and eco-conscious.
Vehicles are unnecessary to fully enjoy Portland living from this fabulous SE spot, but plentiful on-street parking is available.
