This chalet-like retreat is located in the "The Narrows", a private gated community and built in 1973. It’s located within the Tillamook State Forest on the scenic and wild Wilson River, a Pacific Northwest blue-ribbon steelhead, salmon and trout fishing destination. The cabin takes full advantage of panoramic views of the river and state sanctioned forest preserve across. The interior space has beamed and fully vaulted, natural tongue and groove wooden ceilings in the great room and sleeping loft. And wall of windows fills the river facing view up to the peak and lets the soft northern light filter in all day. The wooden-clad ceilings carry through to the bedrooms and bath. The large arched wood burning fireplace adds additional character and warmth to the cozy fishing retreat perched above the river. The home has been modernized with a down to the studs renovation in 2015 so all of the headaches are gone. A generous deck reaches out towards the river and adds a comfortable outdoor living room for entertainment. A sizable storage shed has room for tools, toys, gear and firewood. Concrete steps wind down to the river bank which grows into a wide cobblestone beach in the summertime and creates a river-fun base camp for lounging, swimming, tubing and fishing. Cutthroat trout are caught in the summer and Steelhead in the winter right below the home. For those with a drift boat, this cabin has a it’s own boat slide for an amazing upper river put-in. The private community has primarily part-time vacation home residents. The community lane, with security gate, keeps the neighborhood private and secure. At 55 miles from Portland, you can escape the city on a whim and start unwinding at your river home within an hour. Hiking, foraging, fishing, hunting, crabbing, J Andy Oyster, Pelican Brew Pub, DeGarde Brewing, the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Flight Museum, and all the fun the beach, Netarts Bay and Oceanside have to offer are only a short drive away!
