Beautiful 1 bd. apartment located in the downstairs of my mom's lovely Lookout Mountain loggie with separate entrance and garage space. This space features a mini-kitchen, separate bedroom and living areas, and access to walking trails, beautiful views, etc. Utilities included, and comes unfurnished (unless you'd prefer help furnishing). Apartment is 800sf, with 14 x 20 bedroom, 20 x 20 main room, separate mini-kitchen and full bath.
Cash rent price is 1250/month. Work hours needed (listed below) can account for most of rent due or possibly all of rent due + some pay to you depending on circumstances. We are looking for an experienced caregiver.
My mom is 86 and would like some help with 13 hours/wk of basic home maintenance and driving in exchange for part of the rent. Some items she's identified are:
Bathrooms cleaned 1 x week = 30 min a week 2 hours a month
Floors 1x week 30 min week = 2 hours a month
Laundry 1x week 30 min week = 2 hours a month
Cooking 2 hours/wk = 4 hours a month
Gardening one hour wk = 4 hours a month.

Change sheets every 2 weeks part of laundry
Groceries 1x week one hour = 4 hours a month
Help driving to appointments, doctors, church . 6-8 hours a week = 24-32 hours a month
House maintenance, small errands, help keep appliances working.
Our system with the current tenant has been working well: regularly scheduled work shifts with completed hours noted in a notebook; driving is 'paid' (deducted from rent) at a rate of $20/hour when driving mom's car, cleaning and other work is reimbursed through trade at $25/hour. Current tenant ends up paying about $200/mo in cash presently. My mom's need for assistance varies a bit each month -- some months you may end up paying more, some months less.
Prior tenant loved this location for access to all things mountain, as well as quiet work-from-home retreat. He was kind enough to snap some photos, (while moving so you'll see more stuff in those rooms than is actually there)!
