    What's special

Gorgeous log home is centrally located between White Sulphur Springs and Townsend, Montana just east of the Rocky Mountains. Home was built with logs from Idaho in 2004 and designed by award winning Locati Architects. Logs are full length (no seams) 12-inch Swedish coped. The roof is high quality standing seam metal (no external fasteners). There is a beautiful natural stone fireplace and a full height rock wall in the entry that is dry stacked. The hardwood flooring has been beautifully distressed. Home has handicapped accessible entry, shower, and vanities. Home has Southwest Windows and Doors with magnetic hinged screens on the upper level and Anderson windows in the basement. The upper level has a large master bedroom with bath/walk-in shower; large great room; mud room with storage, sink, and countertop; kitchen and dining room to be finished; and additional full bathroom. Basement/Foundations The basement walls are 10 inches thick and ten feet high. The floor is a minimum of 6 inches and 8-10” in areas of support (entry rock wall, fireplace and perimeter support walls. There is a full length (80 foot) 5-foot frost wall on the walk-out side. The basement is framed and ready for finishing. There are beautiful laminated beams for structural support that were repurposed from an old railroad building. The basement has 4 of the 5 bedrooms and a large family room located centrally with direct exit and a kitchen area. Stainless steel appliances (dishwasher, stove with hood and refrigerator). 1 bedroom has space for a large walk-in closet. (Others have room for smaller walk-in closets). There is 1 bathroom centrally located adjacent to a laundry room/mechanical room (upper level laundry room as well) Deck: The perimeter structure is all steel with top of the line Sherwin Williams oil-based paint. The joists are 2 ply laminated 2x10’s. The flooring is Brazilian IPE hardwood which is known to last 100 years. The deck is wheelchair accessible and 80 feet long. The center section is 10’X23’. The walkway is 4 feet wide with storage rooms at each end. Exterior: The exterior has been recently bead blasted, chinked, and stained with high quality Sikkens Pro lux Teak. The eaves are contrasted with Walnut. The rock on the exterior is natural rock that matches the fireplace and rock wall on the interior. There are two custom built wood beam stairways to access the lower yard. These beams are reclaimed from a 1960s railroad trestle and are in beautiful condition. The basement exterior has been covered with board and batten with beautiful pine wood from Wisconsin. Landscaping: The upper yard bordering the house is roughly .75 acres. The yard to the east of the house has been lifted/leveled/developed for the possibility of a garage. There is a graveled driveway on the perimeter of the upper yard giving access to the lower yard and basement. Electric/plumbing: The power distribution center is wired for 400amp and prewired for a garage if desired. This distribution center also has an outlet wired for an RV. The well pump is flowing 24 gallons a minute. The valves and piping are plumbed to the outside and ready for an irrigation system. There are two hot water heaters and a continuous loop feed pump for immediate hot water. Basement rooms are framed. Main floor kitchen to be finished by buyer. A lot of the photos are over the past 2 years during the construction process. A lot has been done in the time since some of the photos. The perimeter yard has been seeded and growing.
