    What's special

Apartment available 8/1. It's a bright, large, top-floor, wood-trimmed one-bedroom @ 232 Summit St., in a historic neighborhood, 10 mins. from New Pi Co-op & a few blocks from downtown. Great value for the price. I have loved living here - possibly the most beautiful apartment I've lived in. Advantages: +830/month including heat & water +very large space (~865 sq ft) with huge living room & separate dining room alcove & overall excellent layout +hardwood floors throughout +9 ft ceilings +lots of light from almost 3 sides (mainly west & north): second floor facing street with 8 large windows throughout space, plus smaller window in bathroom & even a window in a closet +top floor, excellent views, extremely quiet. +tons of storage: coat closet, big hallway closet, built-in bedroom wardrobe, & aforementioned huge walk-in closet including window +newish tub, brand-new bathroom sink +chill, responsive, non-big-management-company landlord there is a special maintenance man just for the building +back door from kitchen opens onto fire escape +parking space in back lot +coin washer & dryer in building +historic brick building with lots of artists/creatives having lived here +quiet neighborhood very close to groceries & College Green Park +cats allowed +great value!! disadvantages: (-) small kitchen, oldish sink. (-) overall not for those who love very modern/new spaces, though main rooms are truly beautiful & everything is clean & functional / perfect for someone who likes shabby chic Has a literary history: (Google tells me) Robert Lowell lived in the building when he taught at Iowa! Eula Biss lived in the apartment across the hall and saw a bunch of sofas on the street. Nam Le wrote about it in his story "Love and Honor and Pity and Pride and Compassion and Sacrifice"!
