Italianate architecture. The first house built on the street, for the daughter of Cyrus Eaton, in 1854. It has had only six owners. Although modernized (utilities, conveniences, windows, insulation, kitchen, etc.), the structure and details are largely untouched, as evidenced by the original architectural drawings. Neighborhood Description An area of large historic houses. It is currently zoned for single families, apartments, and professional offices (doctors and lawyers). All are represented, but this essentially residential street and it's neighboring Yale Ave. are especially well maintained, including a recent uptick in major renovations. It is a friendly community, with both retirees and families. There a few parties on the block every year where neighbors mingle. Children on the block enjoy walking to the park/playground, lake, and kid-friendly library.
