Located in the charming village of Burke Hollow, the Brook House is fewer than 3 miles to both East Burke and West Burke, 1.5 miles to the nearest Kingdom Trails trailhead, 4.5 miles to Burke Mountain Resort, and 8.5 miles to Lake Willoughby. Mountain biking, Alpine & Nordic skiing, swimming, snowshoeing, and on-property ice skating await you! The Brook House contains all of the amenities guests expect in a home away from home, fusing a traditional Vermont feel with modern appointments. The connected kitchen, dining area, and living room create a social atmosphere. Three bedrooms (including one on the first floor) sleep five people on three beds, and there is a 3/4 bathroom on both floors. Throughout the house are wide pine floors. A glass-front woodstove complements the propane heating system. There is reliable high speed cable internet and wi-fi. Roundy Brook runs just 15 feet from the house, providing scenery from the rear French doors, trout fishing, and the opportunity for a refreshing dip. The south-facing cedar deck is the perfect setting for a cookout. Parking and storage can be found in the adjacent timber-framed barn. A woodshed protects firewood and outdoor items. Brook Road is a destination for gravel road cyclists. Guests can access the Brook House, barn, woodshed, lawns, brook, fields, forest trails, and pond. If something is missing from your experience, simply let us know; our home is just down the road. Please note: Bring your slippers or flip-flops, as shoes are not permitted in the house.
