This subdivision was built as family housing in 1963. New residents buying homes in this neighborhood are primarily young married couples with children. The homes in the neighborhood vary from small 3 br 1 bath starter homes (~800 sqft) to 1500 sqft or more 2 story homes with up to 4 br 3 baths. Many have been added on to over the years. Condition of the homes varies, but most of the new buyers are renovating their homes. The subdivision is about a quarter of a mile from the fire station and Eastwood Walmart Shopping Center. Additional shopping is about ten miles away in Leeds, Trussville, or Inverness. All are accessible by Interstate. The downtown Birmingham Business area is eight miles and accessible by either Highway 78 or the Interstates. My commute before I retired was about thirty minutes during rush hour on 78. After hours I could get to the office (Alabama Power) in 15 to 20 minutes by Interstate. This home is not currently on the market, but we do plan on having it market ready by may of 2020. If you are interested in looking for a home in this area and would like to know more about my home feel free to ask. Features: Galvalume steel roof. 50 year warranty (with around 40 years remaining). Double pane insulated windows on top floor. Obscured glass in the bathroom windows for privacy. Piggy Back Heat Pump (AKA "Hybrid". If you aren't familiar with these it's a heat pump system combined with a natural gas furnace for auxiliary heat. The thermostat will automatically switch the heating to the furnace when outside temperatures fall below 40 degrees fahrenheit. Under certain conditions it can also run the furnace and heat pump together, for example to dehumidify the home on rainy fall days.) Insulated garage door The stove will be included with the house and we do have an older refridgerator that can be included. Like most homes built in 1963 there is no provision for a built in dishwasher. However we do have a GE portable unit that has recently been overhauled with a new pump/motor assembly and new hoses. The foundation is a crawl space under the lower floor and a garage/partial basement under the upper floor. There is a sump pump in the crawl space and laundry hook ups are in the garage. Garage is single car with a workshop area. The is parking space for two more vehicles on the driveway. The driveway could be widened to provide additional parking.
