    This ad is for a rare commodity: a vacant lot on a quiet street in near NE Rochester within walking distance of downtown, the Mayo Clinic, the Civic Center complex and Mayo field, home of the Rochester Honkers. About a block away is the Quarry Hill bike/walking trail which gives access not only to Quarry Hill Park, but also to the extensive Rochester area trail system. A little further away are the new home of Peoples Co-op and the YMCA. There is good bus service on both Center Street and 4th Street SE. The neighborhood is very quiet most of the time (there is a train track about 1 block away - I have never been there when a train went by). There is an alley behind the lot which I think is maintained by the city but I am not certain of this. Except for a concrete driveway on the north side of the lot and a garage pad in the NE corner of the lot, the lot has been completely cleared and seeded. When I bought it there was a house and garage on it. The house turned out to be unsuitable for what I wanted to live in and so I had it removed, including the basement which had a vinyl-asbestos tile floor. The hole left by the basement was filled with clean dirt and the whole lot was seeded. I have since moved to the Twin Cities and purchased a lot there. (N.B.: Google still shows the house on the lot!)
