Basement:
There is an unfinished, dry basement, perfect for storage, tools, a weight bench/rack, or a desk to work from if you don't mind the south philly basement vibe. The washer/dryer is also in the basement.
1st Floor:
Enter through traditional, custom double doors into an original marble vestibule. The beautiful space offers storage and keeps the weather elements out of the main house. The first floor is hardwood through out, a large living room area with an original marble mantle. This leads into an attached dining room space, a recently renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and updated counters and countertops. There is a large "bonus" room in the back that we've used as an office and as our Peloton/Yoga space, but it has also served as a bedroom.
My personal favorite thing about the house is the large private yard in the back. I've sodded and installed a new fence with some string lights for maximum Pinterest vibes. The space is perfect for grilling and entertaining, and is larger than most outdoor spaces city homes have to offer.
2nd Floor:
The original staircase leads to the second floor. The home has a spacious master bedroom with walk in closets and a full private bath with double sinks. The second bedroom is an ample size with significant closet space. There is a full bathroom in the hallway with a tub. There is hallway storage on the second floor, as well as some space beneath the spiral staircase that leads to the roof deck. We have used this space as a small workstation and it has worked out perfectly.
3rd Floor/Roof Deck:
There is a roof deck with a beautiful view of Center City that we've spent many nights on. We couldn't have asked for a better place to take in fireworks, Eagles game fly-overs, what have you.
The Neighborhood:
The house is on a family oriented block with great neighbors. It's also rare in that there are only houses on one side of our street, which lends itself to a beautiful view of a tree-filled park, rather than peering into a neighbors home. The southern side of the block is occupied by the Queen Memorial Library, which means the house gets lots of sunlight all day, and there is virtually guaranteed parking between 22nd and 23rd on Federal.
Within a few block radius, you can access Dock Street South, OCF Coffee, On Point Bistro, Insatiable (formerly Community and Burgs Hideaway - RIP one of the greats), Chick's, Los Camaradas, Sidecar, Ultimo Coffee, and just about a mile from everything on South Street (including the Amazon Hub which in the city is fantastic). There's lots of great park access and multiple bus stops on every corner.
The house would be ideal for Penn/Drexel students/employees, but you're also less than a mile from the subway if you work at/attend Temple University.
This house is really important to us, and we're hoping to rent to friends/a couple/a family that feel the same way about it.
We'll run credit checks upon application, but we have reasonable expectations here. The fee is $75 for this, but if you pass the check and sign a lease we'll apply the cost to your deposit.
You'll be expected to provide First Month/Last Month/Security when signing the lease. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis. A pet deposit will be added to the rent.
The home is available on January 1st, but we're a little flexible on dates. So, if you're looking for a February move, we can possibly make it work.
