The gatehouse at Dreamwood Farm is a small, cozy cottage on a longhorn farm and the setting is absolutely idyllic. Set next to a beautiful lake, the views from your kitchen and master bedroom windows will take your breath away. We added high-end amenities and furnishings while still keeping the original charm of the home. This is perfect from someone looking for an extended sabbatical or an individual working from home looking to spend time in the country. We only accept 6+ month rentals with an occupancy of 1 guest. We are happy to rent long term to an individual who is a good fit for the property. We do require monthly cleanings which is an additional $150/month. Wifi is not included as an amenity, but there is the option to add it on. Because of the rural area the maximum wifi speed is 10mbps. There is a smart TV so you have the ability to stream through your Hulu/Netflix/Amazon/etc. accounts however we are not able to get cable channel TV in this area. The entire home was professionally decorated and is absolutely gorgeous. On the first floor you'll find a stunning kitchen with custom, Amish-made cabinetry, and built in Italian made appliances including a stove, oven, and microwave. There's a small under the counter refrigerator and ice maker (with an additional, full-sized refrigerator in the basement) and a K-cup coffee maker as well as a Chemex. It is well stocked with cookware, serving platters and bowls, and barware, so if you choose to cook in during your stay you'll have everything you need. Side note: there unfortunately wasn't room for a dishwasher in the cabinet design. Just off of the kitchen is the laundry (full-sized washer and dryer) and powder room. On the other side you'll find the dining room and living room which is furnished with a beautiful Six Penny Home sofa and Arhaus accent chairs. Fireplace is not a working fireplace. We're guessing you're going to want to spend most of your time outdoors, but if you choose to use it there is a SmartTV as well. We are unfortunately unable to get reliable TV service so there isn't channel television, but you are able to steam on any of your personal streaming Networks (ie. Netflix, Hulu, YouTubeTV etc.) In addition you'll find board games in the bar cabinet great for spending quality time with the people you love. On the second floor there are two bedrooms- the queen guest room with a beautiful white, upholstered bed and the most stunning wallpaper we've ever seen. And then the master bedroom (our favorite room in the house) has a king-sized bed, the most plush wool carpet, gorgeous vintage accent pieces as well a few stunning new pieces like the Crate & Barrel mirror, and an adorable sitting room complete with a desk and chaise lounge. THE BEST PART is the view. Scroll through the pictures to see, but from most of your windows you'll have the most stunning lake view, so if you never leave your room we won't blame you at all. And finally there's the prettiest bathroom we've seen. A walk-in tile shower, custom-made double bowl vanity, jacuzzi (with lake views), and brass fixtures complete the room. And then there's the outdoor areas. The crown jewel of this listing is absolutely the setting. There's the dock over the lake, the front porch rocking chairs and swing, a fire pit with plenty of firewood, picnic tables, and across the driveway the meadow of Longhorns. We grew up in the country, and yet every time we come here it makes us so inexplicably happy. It's so peaceful and serene. The house is located 100 yards from the road so outside you may hear the slightest traffic noise, but most times it's drowned out by the sound of the birds and crickets chirping. It truly is magical. And the sunsets!! Goodness, the sunsets are spectacular. Just a note- in the winter the Longhorns may not be roaming the meadows as much as they do in the summer so if it's been a full day and they haven't been around the gatehouse area send us a message and we can try to be sure to get you a sighting. :) The logistics: This home is part of a 150 acre working farm, so while there will occasionally be a car or two going in/out of the main driveway next to the home, the gatehouse has it's own driveway and entrance off of the main driveway. Everything pictured including the yard and patio areas are exclusively yours during your stay. There is a second guest home on the other end of the farm, so unless you are renting the entire property please stay around the gatehouse, gatehouse pasture, and pond areas. Trust us, there's more than enough to keep you occupied. :) See satellite image at the end of the photos for reference. Please note: Absolutely no parties or events. Non-paying guests are not permitted on the premises unless you have previous permission. No pets, fireworks, or loud music under any circumstance (this will scare the cattle which can be dangerous for their safety and cause property damage). Absolutely no smoking and no pets. Owner pays utilities. Renter pays wifi. One month's rent due as a security deposit at time of lease signing.
