Formerly Tiffany’s Grand Victoria B&B
This 1846 brick Gothic Revival style home is located on a tree-lined street with beautiful mountain views. This 3-story property was once Rings Funeral home(1032-1989) but more recently Tiffany’s Grand Victoria Bed and Breakfast(1989-2004) and most recently a residence. It has 7(-8) bedrooms, window seats in hallways and 3rd floor bedrooms, 3(-5) bathrooms, 4 fireplaces, a grand Great room with 11-foot mahogany beam ceiling, original hardwood floors and woodwork throughout, and an impressive stairway up to the 3rd floor. It has muntin diamond, crisscross windows on all floors. Also, there are 3(-4) porches including a large front veranda with ceiling fans. Natural gas-zoned heating with a secondary coal heating for the first floor.
There is a 20x40 in-ground fenced-in pool. Also, there is a detached 10-car garage with a metal roof and additional coveted onsite parking for 6+ cars on a paved driveway, and a large flat lawn on nearly 1/2 an acre perfect for outside socializing and activities.
A new roof was installed in 2022. There is a good amount of repair needed throughout to bring this 179-year-old trophy property back to its easily seen glory!

This house was the first in town to have indoor plumbing. There were only 4 previous owners, including the home of a very influential local man, Judge Laird Barber, who ran for Congress in 1896 but was not elected. He was the principal of Mauch Chunk public schools from 1875-1880. He practiced law in Mauch Chunk about 4 years after the Molly McGuire trails. He was the director of the Mauch Chunk school board and served as president and treasurer, also secretary of the town council. He died in 1928 and was interred in the Evergreen cemetery in East Mauch Chunk.
There is much more history to this house and this town to explore………
