A bit about the location: highly walkable - everything is within a quick walk from the most popular bars and restaurants. Busboys and Poets, Sweetgreen, Tatte, Backcountry, CVS, Laveda Nail/wax, YMCA, Organic dry cleaner are all either in the same building, or across the street from the building. Within a 2 block radius are USPS, Jenni's Ice cream, DC Row, Solidcore, Eyebrow threading, Barber/Hair stylists, Trader Joe's, Streets market, Pho 75, U Street/African-American Civil War Metro stop (yellow + green lines), 7/11, La Colombe, Maydan, Lucy Pizza, PublicStorage, Wyndown, and many other conveniences such as Meridian Hill Park which is a great place for dogs or for picnicking on cool summer days, or attending community festivals.
Utilities average $50 and $30 for internet/month. $2,300/ month rent. Do you want power + wifi included? Parking $250/month. Downstairs additional storage lockers $~75/month. Move in/out fee imposed by building: $300 during the week, $500 on the weekend.
It's not my intent, within a reasonable time frame (many years), of raising rents annually like many apartment buildings do. The unit is surrounded by thick fireproof concrete blocks (as are all condo buildings in DC) so the unit is guarded from neighbors' noises. With the angle of the structure, you rarely see them about. It is a very friendly, respectful residents who also help each other. The building is mostly comprised of employed professional adults with a couple of families w/ children.
Parking spaces in the gated private temperature controlled basement of the building are available for rent for $~250/ month with community carts on each level of the garage to haul whatever groceries/ large items you may need to wheel. There is also a public visitor garage section downstairs allowing guests to park by the hour in your building. Storage locker rental is also available ($~75-100).
