This home was owned by the original groundskeeper of the Tea Farm . It was renovated in 1964, retaining most of the original features. The kitchen was renovated in 2000. It one of , I believe, 4 original homes. Neighborhood Description The Tea Farm was once the first Tea Farm in America. The tea which was planted on the John's Island came from the Summerville Tea Farm. I believe that this home and 3 other are the only original houses in the Tea Farm. When it was restored in 1964, the house was clapboard and was replaced with brick.
