The house sits on 28.4 acres (subdivided into 2 lots, 14.6 acres and 13.8 acres) of open and wooded land. It is located on the eastern side of Gaskell Hill Road, a class 3 (gravel) town road that is maintained (salted, sanded, graded) by the local highway department. The closest paved road is 1/2 mile to the north and goes into the village of West Burke, another mile down the paved road. Our gravel driveway has recently been re-done. The open plan downstairs is comprised of the kitchen, dining room and living room. There is also a half bath and a hallway that leads to the two car garage and the woodshed. Flooring downstairs is red and white maple and tile. The half bathroom sports a sizable pot sink and vinyl flooring. A sliding glass door in the south facing wall opens to a large composite (Trex) deck, a door in the east facing wall goes out to a screened-in porch. There is a good-sized Dutch West wood stove that can heat the entire house. Four cords of firewood are stacked in the attached wood shed for easy access. Back-up heat is provided by a direct vented Rinnai EnergySaver 1004F propane unit. The ceiling has exposed beams, the modern kitchen cabinets are maple hardwood with Corian countertops. Upstairs above the garage is a master bedroom with a full bath next to it. Two more bedrooms are above the dining room/kitchen and the living room. Flooring upstairs is wall-to-wall carpeting, Congoleum vinyl tile in the bathroom, and vinyl planking in the east facing bedroom. All windows upstairs are Anderson sash style. There are four closets upstairs. Back-up heat in the master bedroom and the bathroom are direct vented propane units. An unfinished basement and attic offer plenty of storage and work space. The main roofs are asphalt shingles. The roofs over the wood shed and the screened-in porch are metal. Two 4'x 8' solar panels provide hot water; an on-demand water heater serves as back-up.
