    What's special

Quintessential Woodstock farm house and barn, complete with artists studio. Built in 1870 according to town records, although some documents suggest 1840, this Easton Lane beauty was home to mid-century Woodstock artist Daniel Revzan. Revzan was a skilled carpenter as well as a noted painter, and his carpentry graces the house throughout. Richard Freed, the current owner, built a studio attached to the barn which is insulated and heated. Walk through the handmade Revzan doors into a rustic kitchen with Revzan-built cabinets. The kitchen opens into a country dining area with built-in Revzan breakfront. Both kitchen and dining area are bathed in light from the skylights added by the current owner. The huge living room is the entire width of the house, with built-in book shelves, wood-burning stove, and wide-plank floors. Another stylish Revzan door leads to the front yard, where Freed created a bluestone patio. There is a separate entrance with mudroom to the left of the kitchen door, which leads to an office or guest room. Ideal for a therapist, masseuse, lawyer, architect. Freed is an architect as well as a painter, and his drawings adorn the desk. Upstairs are two large bedrooms and a walk-in dressing room/storage area/writing nook/playroom. The full bath upstairs and half bath downstairs feature more Revzan cabinetry and tiling. The barn is being sold "as is", but is quite sound and beautiful. The art studio is completely insulated and heated. There is also a chicken coop that currently stores wood, and an original two-seater outhouse. The shy acre is level with gardens and flowering trees and year-round mountain views.
