    What's special

Beautifully remodeled 2 bedroom 1 bath mountain cabin with quick access to Durango on paved roads. Easy access to Vallecito Lake for great fishing and water sports Lemon Lakes is also close by. There is access into the national forest through the subdivision for amazing hiking, mountain biking and hunting. The spacious kitchen has an abundance of gorgeous custom wood cabinets as well as stainless steel appliances. The tub/shower in the remodeled bath has custom tile surround and there is an updated vanity and fixtures. The wood stove in the family room will take the chill off the cool nights. Two skylights in the family room provide plenty of natural light. There are updated tile floors throughout the home. The large covered deck is the perfect place for outdoor entertaining and barbecues or to just relax and enjoy the mountain views. The spacious storage building is great for storing bikes and other equipment. If you are looking for an incredibly energy efficient home this one is for you. This home has 1500w of solar on the hillside behind the house and 9-350w panels on the roof for a total of 4650w. There are 6 panels on the roof for solar thermal hot water & domestic hot water. There are 2 hot water tanks. There are 2 independent plumbing loops for the system. The first uses glycol and cycles through the outside thermal panels to a heat exchanger in the utility room. Glycol is used to prevent freezing in the winter. The second loop sends the water through the heat exchanger and into the larger hot water tank for domestic hot water. It also cycles through the in floor heat pipes that heat a larger thermal mass in the foundation which then evenly distributes to heat through the floors to keep the house warm. The small hot water heater is a 6 gallon marine boat hot water heater and it can accept glycol directly from the roof panels to heat the 6 gallon supply of domestic hot water. Both water tanks can heat water w/electricity in case of prolonged cloudy days. There is propane just for the oven/range.
